- À propos de l'offre d'emploi R&D Engineer - Adaptive Memory Management / Operating Systems Paris, France, Onsite, Fixed-Term Contract (CDD) Join the R&D team of a global technology company working on next-generation computing and memory architectures. As an R&D Engineer you will research and develop C-based OS algorithms for adaptive memory management within distributed shared-memory architectures. The R&D Engineer will work across OS internals and hardware interfaces, designing experiments to evaluate new approaches and contributing to potential research publications. Open to strong MSc graduates from top French institutes as well as early-career engineers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Develop adaptive memory-management algorithms within the OS using C. - Interface OS software with hardware and internal OS structures. - Work with distributed shared-memory architectures. - Design experiments and analyse technical results. - Contribute to research documentation and publications. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS Essential: - BSc, MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics or related field. - Strong C programming. - Experience/knowledge of Operating System design and internals. - Understanding of memory management, processes, IPC and concurrency. - Knowledge of computer architecture and hardware/software interfaces. Desirable: - Distributed/shared memory or cache coherence experience. - GEM5, SystemC, RTL or hardware experience. - C++ and/or Python. - Research experience and at least one first-author paper. RECRUITER'S NOTE Ideal candidates include OS Engineers, Systems Software Engineers, Embedded Software Engineers, Research Engineers and Computer Architecture Researchers with strong C and OS knowledge. Candidates from semiconductor, embedded, HPC or academic research backgrounds are particularly relevant. Memory management, shared memory, concurrency and HW/SW interface experience will stand out.
